About me
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist (CPsychol, BPS and HCPC accredited and registered) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (BABCP accredited) working in private practice. I have a 10 year NHS background in adult mental health, and in both inpatient and out-patient child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).
I work with adults, children and families on an individual and group basis. My practice integrates psychological approaches including traditional and 3rd wave mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT) including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). In addition to attachment theory and systemic family therapy. I have over 14 years of clinical experience working with individuals and families experiencing mental and physical health and neurodivergent associated difficulties including managing feelings of anxiety, low mood, depression, panic, stress, trauma, low self-confidence and self-esteem. When working with clients, relational and social communication/interactional difficulties in addition to environmental and contextual factors are always explored; taking a holistic approach using psychological formulation to explore the whole person, their history, current difficulties and lifestyle factors. I have a great love of the natural world, being outdoors, moving and connecting with nature. I therefore incorporate nature based eco therapies and practices into my work. I have trained in yoga psychology, integrating the two disciplines to work with the mind body connection and nervous system regulation, by incorporating body based somatic and breath work practices.
In addition to face-to-face sessions in the clinic, I offer remote video consultations and also active, mindfulness and walking-talking sessions outdoors. I personalise sessions always in collaboration with each individual client and their intended focus for therapy, in accordance with their personal values.
Areas of interest
Through a holistic, bio/psycho/social and spiritual lens, I meet clients on a relational level to help individuals and families identify presenting difficulties and also their existing strengths and resources. We then work collaboratively towards making meaningful change in-line with their goals and personal values. I place great value and importance upon my own relationships and connection to nature, my family, friends and community; and also with movement, exercise and mind body integration. I understand the health benefits of meaningful connection and as such, this informs who I am as a practitioner psychologist.
Since moving solely into independent practice I have advanced and diversified my curiosity, training and practice, bringing greater focus onto the mind body relationship, somatic enquiry and embodiment. This has led me to commence my Yoga and Somatics Teacher Training early in 2026.
