About me

I am specialized in the treatment of patients with bowel, stomach and oesophageal cancers at LOC Harley Street, The Harley Street Clinic and Nuffield at St Barts. I am also a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Professor of Gastrointestinal Cancer Medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital and Queen Mary University of London. As clinical director of GI oncology and director of GI cancer research, I lead the GI oncology department and the GI research program at St Bart's.

I studied Medicine at the University of Munich, Harvard Medical School and Imperial College and obtained his research MD from the Institute of Immunology in Munich.

In 2013, I joined the Royal Marsden Hospital as a consultant in gastrointestinal cancer and the Institute of Cancer Research as a research team leader. I was subsequently appointed at St Bartholomew's Hospital and Queen Mary University London in 2022.

With my clinical and research teams, I lead clinical trials and develop precision medicine biomarkers and new immunotherapies for bowel, stomach and oesophageal cancers. Another research focus is how circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) can be used to detect and then optimally treat minimal residual disease after surgery.
