About me
Dr Zeki offers face-to-face consultations at HCA UK at The Shard on Tuesdays, with video and telephone consultations available at convenient times throughout the week, including weekends.
Dr Sebastian Zeki is a Consultant Gastroenterologist seeing private patients at HCA UK at The Shard and London Bridge Hospital, with particular expertise in acid reflux, Barrett's oesophagus, swallowing difficulties, eosinophilic oesophagitis and the early detection and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer, as well as general gastroenterological conditions.
He is one of a small number of London consultants personally delivering advanced reflux diagnostics BRAVO wireless pH monitoring, pH-impedance studies and high-resolution oesophageal manometry meaning patients with persistent or unexplained reflux symptoms can be investigated and treated within a single pathway. He performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy in JAG-accredited endoscopy units at London Bridge Hospital, including endoscopic diagnosis and resection of early cancers and radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's oesophagus.
Dr Zeki qualified from Cambridge University and University College London in 2001 and completed a PhD in the genomics of oesophageal cancer, with postdoctoral research at Addenbrooke's Hospital, the MRC Cancer Unit in Cambridge, and Jikei University Hospital, Tokyo. He is a consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at King's College London, and his work has been recognised with awards from the British, European and American gastroenterological societies.
He aims to make every consultation unhurried and clear, ensuring patients understand their symptoms, their options and the plan and that problems are resolved promptly.
