About me

M. Scott Peck, the author of 'The Road Less Travelled', starts his book with the sentence :'Life is difficult'; a sentiment that captures and understands how struggles are experienced by each and every one of us and sometimes we need help to understand and process our struggles - these struggles could be present ones, and/or ones that have their roots in the past somewhere. Our thought patterns, suppressed emotions and experiences are immensely influential in influencing how we live our lives and how we conduct our relationships ; exploring and processing our thoughts and feelings with a qualified practitioner helps to find and forge our own individual and unique way through and beyond our difficulties and struggles.
I am registered as an accredited therapist and supervisor with the U.K.A.H.P.P. (Association of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners) and the U.K.C.P. (United Kingdom Standing Conference for Psychotherapy) and bound by their code of practices and ethical frameworks.
I work using a humanistic integrative model of psychotherapy and value the influences of other psychotherapy and counselling models such as the transpersonal, the relational, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural frameworks. Alongside my own particular model, I may use various techniques such as relaxation mindfulness and stress management to help strengthen coping strategies.
I am committed to providing a safe therapeutic environment and practice for my clients and, to this end, I have professional indemnity insurance and regular supervision with an ethical practitioner. I engage in regular continuing professional development in the form of research, workshops and further professional trainings.
I have worked for the NHS, EAP companies and in the field of education over the past 20 years. I have been a lecturer of counselling and psychotherapy since 1997, hold a PGCHE (Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education), and a Masters in Transpersonal Practice. In addition I am a qualified mediator and accredited counselling/psychotherapy supervisor.
