About me
Mr Anup Kumar Sharma is the Lead Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast and Endocrine Surgery at St George’s Hospital in London. He is also a General Surgeon. Anup obtained his undergraduate medical degree at The Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1985.
As an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, he provides a comprehensive service including the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of women presenting with both benign and malignant breast diseases. He obtained an MS (Lond), a higher degree by thesis, in research into breast cancer. He continues his research interests having obtained grants enabling him to supervise surgical research fellows studying for MD theses.
He is also a fully trained Endocrine Surgeon undertaking routine, revisional and complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as laparoscopic adrenal surgery. He is an experienced General Surgeon and treats Emergency General Surgical and trauma patients.
He was the Clinical Lead for General Surgery at St George’s Hospital between 2007 and 2010 and again in 2012. Anup serves on the Surgical Training Committee for specialist registrars in South West London and was elected to the Court of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005. He is also the club doctor for AFC Wimbledon.
