About me
I provide specialist psychological support for adults and young people navigating emotional difficulties, long-term health conditions, or life's challenges.
I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for almost 20 years. In 2018 I started an independent practice alongside my NHS work to help more people identify their challenges, clarify their values and reconnect with what matters most, and develop a clear path towards positive change.
It's important to me that my practice is evidence-based and effective, I only agree to work with someone who I genuinely feel I can help.
I have a specialist interest in anxiety-related difficulties and physical health conditions. I have helped hundreds of people facing challenges such as health anxiety, generalised anxiety, OCD, phobias, social anxiety, panic, pain, ill-health and chronic stress or burnout.
I am proud to be a member of the UK Sports Institute (UKSI) Mental Health Practitioner Network, helping elite athletes maintain their mental health and emotional resilience in high-performance environments.
Over the years I have seen first-hand the importance of the relationship between therapist and client. This is why I'll take the time to ensure you feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. It's only natural to feel apprehensive about reaching out for help, or opening up to someone new, so I do my best to create a safe and supportive space where you can speak openly, explore challenges without judgment, and feel empowered to move forward at your own pace.
My approach is compassionate and collaborative, working towards your individual goals to ensure that therapy focuses on what truly matters to you, using evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Behavioural Therapy and and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I offer daytime and evening appointments that are both online and face to face in Stockport.
Please visit my website for more information and contact me to arrange a no obligation brief telephone call to discuss options.
