About me
I have been working in Sheffield as an humanistic, integrative counsellor since 2015. I undertook my initial training as a dance movement psychotherapist, completing a Masters Degree in 2012 and then went on to enhance this with a certificate in counselling and psychotherapy.
Talking Therapy offers you a confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can share and process the issues which might be causing you emotional or psychological distress. These might be caused by past or current experiences.
Through talking, you will have the opportunity to process your thoughts and experiences, to better identify areas which are problematic and, through input, from the counsellor, you may come to better understand behaviours and perceptions which may not be serving you well and come to find a way forward to achieve what it is that you seek to change or improve.
Working from an Humanistic model (as opposed to the more directive approaches of Cognitive Behavioural or Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytical therapy) this approach is under-pinned by the core conditions of person-centred therapy. I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental space in which to talk and I shall be by your side while you undertake this process of, potentially, deeper, self-reflection, supporting you as you find your pathway forward.
In addition to my private practice, I also hold the position of associate counsellor with NECA - the service which offers support to individuals living with problem gambling and am also employed by Sheffield Hallam University.as a counsellor and well-being practitioner.
