About me
Mr Mulla has been a consultant ENT Surgeon since May 2020. His NHS practice includes a specialist voice clinic where he receives referrals from all across Yorkshire and beyond. He is the chair of the South Yorkshire Head and Neck oncology multi disciplinary team (MDT) meeting and a core member of the thyroid MDT. Having completed his training fairly recently he is proficient in all aspects of ENT.
Mr Mulla undertakes all aspects of general ENT but has a specific interest in voice, thyroid, parathyroid, airway and head and neck surgery in general. Whilst he has specialist clinics he also has general ENT clinics and performs all aspects of ENT surgery including tonsillectomy, snoring surgery and sinus surgery to name a few
Throughout his extensive training, within Yorkshire, and my consultant career he has carried out over 3,000 procedures ranging from simple ENT procedures such as grommets to tonsils more complex procedures such as thyroid and airway surgery.
He has written many scientific papers, spoken at many conferences and even published a book chapter. Due to his academic interests he regularly reviews ENT textbooks and his reviews can be found online.
With Mr Mulla's specialist voice practice he has performed many voice augmentation and injections under both local and general anaesthesia. With his specialist interest in voice box (larynx) disorders, he receives many referrals from his colleagues for minimally invasive laryngeal surgery.
Mr Mulla is the clinical tutor for junior and middle grade ENT doctors. Looking after their educational requirements keeps his knowledge and skills up to date.
In addition to his clinical work he supervises an undergraduate bachelor of science student for her degree and thesis. He actively participate in research and within his NHS practice he is currently the site lead for four different ENT research projects.
Mr Mulla is the course founder and organiser of three courses; Doncaster FRCS viva course (Course for senior ENT trainees preparing for their final exam) and The Hybrid ENT Course (Course for junior ENT and maxillofacial trainees) and the Pan Yorkshire Cadaveric Dissection Course (practical course for ENT trainees, teaching the key steps of operations). As course organiser his knowledge is constantly kept up to date and allows him to regularly meet other consultants who help with the courses and bounce ideas back and forth with them.
