About me
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist meaning I draw on a range of methods to help my clients. This includes Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and CBT. I am interested in the relationship between thinking, emotions, past development, existential issues and lifestyle and how psychotherapy can help restore a natural balance between these processes. Many clients who present with anxiety, depression and other diagnoses experience confusion, hopelessness and loss of control. Exploring relationships, meaning, choices and connections can enhance their capacity for growth and development. Therapy can help clients experience powerful personal change in themselves and often in others around them.
I work with many presentations but I specialise in Eating Disorders including binge-purge, weightloss, dysmorphia and associated depression and anxiety. I work with nutrition and lifestyle and its effects on eating and behaviour. I also work with bariatric or other Clients who are addressing weight with appetite suppressant medication such as Wegovy.
Therapy is a powerful tool to sensitively challenge scripts, thoughts and processes that are no longer helpful and to dig deep into the resources that a Client possesses but has not considered. It is a unique opportunity to explore and discuss personal issues in a confidential environment, so client and therapist must work together as an attuned team!
