About me
As a Counselling Psychologist, I work across the NHS, higher education and private practice in clinical, supervisory, managerial and training roles.
In the NHS, I have over a decade's experience of working in different settings with a variety of presentations - from anxiety, depression to relationship difficulties, self-defeating behaviours and complex trauma - with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
I believe real underlying and meaningful change is possible by collaboratively working together to better understand and address your difficulties and feelings in context of your current circumstances and past experiences. Having trained pluralistically in different therapeutic approaches as a Counselling Psychologist (Psychodynamic, Humanistic and third-wave Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy) and undergone further training in various evidence-based approaches (Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy), I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach but work integratively to best suit your needs and situation.
In addition, I enjoy my role offering supervision, reflective practices and find it rewarding contributing to training as Visiting Lecturer at City University London's Counselling Psychology doctorate programme.
I am an accredited member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP) and International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association (IEDTA). I am committed to continuous training and development as well as staying up to date with the latest research and guidelines and work as a peer reviewer for a psychotherapy journal.
