About me
Dr. Chitnis is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Oxford Cancer & Haematology Centre, where she specialises in treating thoracic malignancies (Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, Small Cell Lung Cancer, Mesothelioma and Thymic malignancies). Having graduated with Honours from St Bartholomew's and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000, she undertook specialist oncology training in London and Oxford. She was awarded a Cancer Research UK Fellowship for her DPhil studies at the University Oxford, which focused on signalling pathways in cancer.
Dr. Chitnis has published widely and is a speaker on lung cancer both nationally and internationally, with a focus on education.
Dr Chitnis is is a member of the Thames Valley Strategic Clinical Network Lung Cancer Alliance group. She has been departmental Lead for the Lung Cancer service in Oxford and deputy lead for Clinical Governance.
Dr Chitnis is the Oxford Lung Cancer research lead and is the Principal Investigator on a diverse portfolio of clinical trials. She is committed to improving patient pathways and access to the latest treatments and innovation.
Dr. Chitnis specialises in the use of systemic therapy in lung cancer including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted kinase inhibitors, antibody drug conjugates and other emerging therapies.
