About me
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist accredited with BPS and HCPC. I have over thirteen years experience of working within mental health, most recently as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. Clinical Psychologists differ from psychotherapists as we are trained at doctoral level and are required to work with clients across the lifespan using a wide range of approaches, as well as carrying out their own research. This ensures that we are able to keep abreast of the most up to date theories and research and integrate this into our work.
I work in a trauma-informed way and have experience of working with a wide range of problems. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
My approach is to work with you as an individual, rather than the diagnosis. I only draw upon approaches where there is evidence that they work. The additional training that is required to become a Clinical Psychologist means that I am able to offer you a comprehensive assessment, which supports you to think about which approach is right for you and why.
