About me
I am a consultant knee surgeon based in Exeter since 2018. I graduated with an MBChB from Edinburgh University in 2005 and undertook my specialist training in orthopaedic surgery in Edinburgh.
On completion of my training I was awarded a one year fellowship at the world renowned adult lower limb reconstruction centre at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. In Canada I trained intensively and conducted research in modern and cutting edge techniques in knee and joint replacement surgery,
I am keenly involved with research in the field of knee replacement surgery and have authored numerous research papers, review articles and book chapters and have lectured throughout the UK and Europe. I am also a senior lecturer with the University of Exeter. I was awarded a Medical Doctorate (MD) from Edinburgh University in 2018 for my research in the field of knee surgery.
I specialise specifically in knee problems focusing on degenerative joint disease requiring total and uni-compartmental knee replacements as well as revision knee replacement surgery.
I live in Exeter with my wife and two children and enjoying playing a variety of sports having previously been a junior England international hockey player.
I am confident that I will be able to help you with a balanced, highly competent and confidential opinion about your knee problems.
