About me
Mr Haque qualified from University College London (UCL) in 2004. He advanced his surgical practice with a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery (IRCAD/EITS, University of Strasburg, France), Royal College of Surgeons Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship and Sub-fellowship at the world-renowned complex colorectal Saint Antoine Hospital in Paris. He has developed a specialist interest in Laparoscopic General, Colorectal and Emergency surgery.
Completing his PhD at UCL in the field of colorectal cancer with over 30 publications and international presentations, he was awarded the British Journal of Surgery Award, Cambridge Young Investigators Prize and Culters’ Fellowship Award amongst others. He continues teaching medical professionals up to surgeons sitting the Fellowship exams to become consultants.
Mr Haque currently works at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital (BTUH) undertaking the full range of Colorectal and General surgical procedures. He is currently Lead for Emergency Surgery, Ambulatory Surgical Care and developing numerous other patient services. As the Royal College of Surgeons Lead Unit Training Director for BTUH, he has also initiated and runs educational programs within Surgery for the Trust to benefit patient care.
He undertakes laparoscopic (“key hole”) and open surgery for all common colorectal and general surgical diseases including cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, rectal/anal disease, simple and complex abdominal wall hernias and reconstructions, cholecystectomies (gallbladder surgery) and endoscopic procedures amongst numerous others.
