He was senior registrar to the spinal deformity service in Birmingham from 1993, and was awarded a British Orthopaedic Society Wishbone Travelling Scholarship in 1995.
He undertook a travelling fellowship in North America (San Francisco, San Diego and Kansas) from June to September 1995; then travelling to Germany to undertake the Harms Fellowship with Prof. J Harms over the winter of 1995.
Mr Marks was appointed as Consulting Surgeon to The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and The Birmingham Children’s Hospital in December 1995.
