About me
I went to school in Hertfordshire but carried out my medical training in the South West of England. I graduated from the University of Bristol in 1985, continuing as a junior doctor in Bristol, including a year teaching anatomy at the University. I carried out my specialist training on the South West Orthopaedic training scheme with clinical posts rotating through all the Bristol hospitals, as well as spells at Cheltenham and Plymouth. I also conducted a period of full time research in the Bristol University department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
I joined the East & North Hertfordshire Trust as a Consultant in 1996. My specialist interests include sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery and hip and knee replacement. In recent years hip surgery has formed a dominant part of my practice. I have particular experience in hip replacement for younger adults including CT based 3D planning, custom made implants and hip resurfacing. I also have extensive experience in revision hip replacement.
I consult privately at Pinehill Hospital in Hitchin.
