About me

Nadir Osman is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. He has a specialist interest in urinary tract reconstruction and works within a team that provides an internationally recognised tertiary referral service. He has specialist expertise in the treatment of urethral strictures, complex incontinence, urinary fistula, refractory bladder problems and urinary tract injuries.


He completed medical studies at the University of Liverpool in 2006 graduating with honours. He undertook specialist training in Urology in Merseyside and Yorkshire between 2010 and 2019. The last 2 years of his training were exclusively in reconstruction, followed by focused training in vaginal reconstruction in Moscow. He has undertaken research in regenerative medicine for pelvic floor disorders leading to the award of a PhD (2014).


He acts as an investigator in clinical trials in for lower urinary tract disorders. He has presented over 30 research posters and given 6 invited presentations at national and international meetings. He has published over 75 peer-reviewed articles as well as 20 book chapters and 2 books.


He serves on the editorial board of the premier journal in functional urology, Neurourology and Urodynamics as well as being a reviewer for several urology and science journals. In addition, he is a member of the European Association of Urology (EAU) Urethral stricture guideline panel, the EAU young academic urologist’s functional urology group and a Member of the International Continence society working group on Underactive bladder. In 2019 he was selected as one of only 3 urologists across Europe for the prestigious EAU-AUA academic exchange program, during which he visited centres across the USA to further his expertise.
