About me

I offer specialist assessment, formulation and psychological therapy for adults and young people, who experience a range of difficulties. I use an integrated approach to support interventions which are tailored to an individual needs, goals and systemic factors. These approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Compassionate mind approaches, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Systemic interventions and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I have 16 years NHS experience working in a variety of settings. I have specialised in working with adults and young people who experience complex mental health difficulties. Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, I worked in acute mental health services. Providing support to individuals who experience a variety of psychological and mental health challenges. I have also taught students across a number of universities, including teaching trainee Clinical Psychologists. Alongside this I have worked in the private sector since 2015. In 2018 I left the NHS to focus on my independent work and offer more support to individuals in my private practice.

The best predictor of success in therapy is rapport; therefore feelings of trust and respect are important. It is important to me that the client choses a therapist they believe they can work with. Thus, I aim to help my clients to feel safe and contained in my sessions and offer a free telephone consultant prior to the assessment appointment.

I have completed post-doctoral training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Systemic Practice, yoga for trauma and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist and with the British Psychological Society (BPS) as a Chartered Psychologist.
