About me

I am a fully qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural & EMDR Therapist, based in Birmingham, UK.

I have over 14 years' experience in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques, beginning my career using guided self-help in the NHS and fully qualifying in 2014. I trained in EMDR in 2016. Since leaving the NHS I have worked in charity and private healthcare settings. I have worked with a range of conditions, including having worked in Specialist Eating Disorder Services. I frequently work with trauma due to my EMDR qualification.

Though experience and knowledge is of course fundamental, a significant factor in therapy outcomes is the therapeutic relationship. I am therefore conscious of establishing this relationship from the outset and adapting my practice to individual differences wherever possible. I regularly work remotely but also have access to a room to work face to face.

Areas of interest

I work with patients aged 18+ with common mental health problems such as:
Depression;
Generalised Anxiety Disorder;
Panic Disorder;
Illness Anxiety;
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder;
Social Anxiety;
Phobias;
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

I specialise in treating PTSD and Eating Disorders and also have extensive experience in working with low self-esteem and helping individuals with stress management.
