About me
I am a Consultant Knee Surgeon with extensive experience across all aspects of knee surgery, with particular expertise in sports knee injuries and joint preservation procedures. Through specialised training, I have developed advanced skills in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, partial knee replacement, and total knee replacement surgery.
My specialist training has been enhanced by prestigious international fellowships. I was awarded a highly regarded travelling fellowship, which included time in the United States working alongside Professor Freddie Fu, widely recognised as one of the pioneers of modern sports knee surgery. I also trained with Professor Jean-No�l Argenson in France, an internationally respected authority in partial knee replacement surgery. To further develop my expertise in sports knee conditions, I completed a Sports Knee Fellowship at the Royal Derby Hospital under the guidance of Mr Guido Geutjens.
In addition to my clinical training, I dedicated a year to research in regenerative medicine, studying stem cell technology at University College London and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. This work provided valuable insight into emerging biological treatments aimed at preserving joint function and delaying the progression of osteoarthritis.
As a Consultant at Royal Derby Hospital, I have played an active role in introducing innovative surgical techniques into clinical practice, including personalised computer-assisted osteotomy procedures designed to improve alignment and joint preservation outcomes. I also maintain a strong interest in the development of pioneering cartilage regeneration techniques, with the aim of improving patient outcomes and supporting long-term joint health.
