About me

Advanced Breast Cancer Care through Science and Compassion

Professor Zoe Winters is an experienced, senior London Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Cancer Surgeon and Breast Specialist, with over 35 years of experience. Zoe specialises in the early detection of breast cancer, the diagnosis, treatment and management of breast cancer, using the latest cutting edge treatments and management strategies as well as risk-adapted breast screening, in state-of-the-art clinics.

Consistently praised for her holistic approach, all patients are given a high quality, personalised service through a 'rapid' One-Stop Breast Clinic. Only the highest standards of treatment and care are given. A Radiologist practises individualised breast imaging based on mammographic breast density that is complemented with ultrasound and / or contrast-enhanced mammograms and MRIs. Real-time tissue biopsy is performed alongside sharing all imaging reports. Tissue biopsy results can take up to 5 days to report.

Professor Winters is passionate about individual breast cancer risks, family history and lifestyle risk factors such as HRT. Recommendations for testing inheritable gene panels, and potential preventative population risk genes occur by referrals to leading geneticists.

Zoe offers leading expertise in planning oncoplastic surgery by saving the breast and / or types of breast cancer reconstruction. Zoe works with a team of Associate Consultant Breast Cancer Surgeons, and was recognised with 'the best breast cancer surgeon of the year' awards (2021 - 2025), including annual online patient reported satisfaction endorsements on Doctify 'outstanding patient experience 2025' and iwantgreatcare 'certificate of excellence' since 2021.

Professor Winters says "My passion is constantly updating my knowledge base so that I can provide the best possible medicine to my patients, as patients are at the pinnacle of everything I do".

I am highly motivated to update myself with the latest surgery techniques and breast cancer therapies".

Professor Winters is regularly invited to talk nationally and internationally as an expert in immediate breast reconstruction in relation to her clinical research in the field including her clinical experience. She has led two novel randomised controlled clinical trials in breast reconstruction in the prevention of seromas and latterly been the Chief Investigator on Cancer Research UK randomised clinical trials in breast reconstructions which were the first trials of this kind in the UK and internationally in the field. She is considering other important scientific questions to help guide women in future treatment decisions.

Part of her academic work, she regularly teaches and lectures, Breast Oncoplastic Surgery to University College London, post-graduates, (the next generation).
