About me

As a member of BACP and having studied counselling to a professional academic level client feedback is that they are comfortable that they are working with someone who is knowledgeable and skilled to a high degree within the counselling profession. I have a Masters degree in Counselling and therapeutic communication from the University of Ulster, a B.A. degree and an Advanced Diploma from Queens University Belfast and I am an Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My experience covers issues such as abuse, family issues, panic attacks, betrayal, separation and divorce, depression, sexual abuse, anger, bereavement, relationship issues, stress, anxiety and panic attacks, trauma, low self-esteem, depression and sexual orientation. I can help you to explore what is causing you to feel and behave the way you do, making connections with how past events may be affecting your present life and identify any unhelpful patterns that are preventing you from living a more fulfilling life. Complete confidentiality within the ethical parameters of BACP is guaranteed.

I have worked professionally with both adults, children and young people in a private setting and within some of the leading Grammar schools in Northern Ireland as well as within Secondary and Integrated education.

My location which is absolutely discreet, offering you total anonymity when entering and leaving, is located convenient to the Downpatrick/Newcastle/Crossgar/Ballynahinch areas. I also work in the Belfast University BT9 area which is among professional offices where discretion is totally upheld.

As an accredited member of the BACP I adhere to their ethical guidelines. I hold professional insurance and have received enhanced clearance from Access NI to work with children and young people.

I am an integrative child/person centred Counsellor/Therapist. This means my counselling approach is tailored towards working with each individual and their unique set of needs.

I offer a safe and caring environment whereby you can explore emotions without fear of criticism or blame.

Client feedback has been that counselling has assisted them to gain insight and awareness into their situation which has allowed them to develop a new sense of hope and resilience and move towards a more fulfilled life.
