About me

Miss Krishnan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust and has been in this post since 2014. She has over 15 years of experience in Ophthalmology.

Her specialist interests are cataract surgery and medical retina conditions including age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions, which can be treated with intravitreal injections (of which she has performed over 3000). She performs routine and complex cataract surgery with various anaesthetic options and teaches cataract surgery to trainees in her role as an NHS Consultant. She also has extensive experience in seeing and managing general ophthalmology conditions including glaucoma, dry eyes and blepharitis.

She graduated in medicine and surgery from the University of Cambridge and began her ophthalmic career in 2003. She trained at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Wessex Hospitals and then undertook advanced training for 1 year in Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, obtaining in depth experience in Medical Retina conditions and cataract surgery. She has presented at national and European conferences and published her original research widely in national and international journals. A highlight of her Consultant career was receiving a Clinical Excellence award in 2017.

Miss Krishnan takes great pride in her communication with patients and has continually received excellent patient feedback.
