About me

I am a Chartered Counselling Health Psychologist (BPS) registered with HCPC with over 25 years experience in the NHS providing therapy to individuals, couples and groups in a variety of settings. I am trained in a variety of evidence based therapeutic approaches including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic and Psychotherapeutic models, Mindfulness based models, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassion focussed approaches. I am also a Relate trained Psychosexual Therapist.

My experience has involved working with varying levels of human distress so I can, therefore, help people with different mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety and panic attacks, and offering help and support with other psychological difficulties such as bereavement and abnormal grief reactions, loss, relationship difficulties and breakdown, workplace stresses and other life problems.
I have many years experience of working with chronic health conditions, pain problems in particular, and I have also worked with people who are living with other long term conditions and life limiting illnesses. The aim of my therapy is to help people find ways to cope and to adjust to living with their particular physical health condition and to improve their quality of life. I work in a holistic way, acknowledging that our physical health cannot be separated from our mental health and help people understand how the two impact on each other.
