About me
Kirsty is an experienced Physiotherapist who has worked in various different settings since qualifying from The University of Huddersfield with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree in 2005.
She began her career working within NHS hospitals in South Wales where she rotated between working on wards and within out-patient departments.
With a strong bias towards Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Kirsty specialised and progressed in this area through senior NHS Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy posts.
Kirsty moved back over the border to join Royal Berkshire NHS Trust as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner in 2011. In this post, she worked closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons to assess, treat and rehabilitate patients.
On leaving the NHS in 2014 she continued to specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy working as a Senior Physiotherapist for the Ministry of Defence within residential rehabilitation, outpatient departments and multidisciplinary assessment clinics.
In addition to her NHS and MOD roles, Kirsty has also maintained a strong interest in acute sports injuries. She was Lead Physiotherapist for her local rugby team and the under 16s Regional Academy Squad providing pitch-side cover and injury management to both teams. These roles developed both her interest and expertise in managing sports injuries.
Kirsty is qualified to use Acupuncture, Injection Therapy, Mobilisation & Manipulation, Pilates, Shockwave Therapy and Taping alongside her general Physiotherapy skills.
One of Kirsty's favourite parts of her work is teaching groups and classes as she enjoys getting to know her patients during these sessions and helping them to achieve their goals.
Kirsty trained to teach Pilates with The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI); A World-leading provider of Physiotherapy and Pilates Education.
Kirsty's works out of two clinics; her own private physiotherapy practice; Kirsty Harris Physiotherapy based in Great Shefford near Hungerford, and also Faringdon Clinic.
