About me
About me
Mr Khan is an endocrine & general surgeon trained in London and Oxford and is based at the Oxford University Hospitals. He specialises in parathyroid/thyroid and adrenal surgery performing over 250 of these operations per year.
Areas of interest
Parathyroid – I perform approximately 100 parathyroids per year placing me in the top 3% of the country. I have expertise where scans have identified a tumour and also where they have failed. I have wide experience in redo surgery where previous attempts to cure have failed.
Thyroid – Expertise in thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer including extensive lymph node dissections of the neck. I attend and helps run the Thames Valley Thyroid cancer MDT.
Adrenal – management of adrenal nodules and disease of the adrenal gland. I specialise in keyhole surgery to remove adrenal glands and am one of the few in the UK performing this via the retroperitoneal (back) approach.
Hernia – I have trained across numerous specialist centres on hernia surgery with a special interest in local anaesthesia surgery. I work for numerous hernia charities and perform repairs in many 3rd world countries.
