About me

I am an HCPC registered and BPS-chartered Senior Counselling Psychologist and EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner with a background in secondary care in the NHS and over 20 years' experience offering psychological therapy to clients presenting with a range of issues. Clients come to me for an initial assessment or to gain insight into what troubles them and why, to work on specific issues or to achieve particular goals and therapy outcomes.
My core training was in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy and psychodynamic therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Schema Therapy, DBT, ACT and mindfulness-based approaches, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Meaning Reconstruction Therapy for grief. For each client, the approach is tailored to the individual's situation and client's goals and jointly agreed.

Areas of interest

I work with adults presenting with a range of problems including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and Complex PTSD, dissociative disorders, grief and bereavement, adjustment and identity issues, relationship problems, difficulties with emotion regulation, low self-esteem, existential concerns such as mortality, meaning in life, religion/spirituality, decision-making.
