Carl is a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and is Accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP). Carl has experience of delivering CBT in the NHS in a primary care setting and more recently in a secondary mental health community environment.
Carl has been a qualified Mental Health Nurse for almost 16 years and holds a mental health nursing diploma qualification, from Staffordshire University. He has worked in a variety of mental health settings and environments, over the years. More recently he qualified as a CBT Therapist and now holds a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT, also achieved through Staffordshire University.
Carl works collaboratively with people to deliver CBT in a compassionate way in order to help people identify problems that may be maintaining their difficulties and also to identify and achieve their goals.
He uses a range of evidence based CBT techniques and interventions to help people, who are presently struggling with depression and anxiety problems, that are impacting on daily life. Through using such techniques and interventions, change can made and goals achieved. He supports people using CBT to facilitate personal change and develop strategies to support them in becoming their own therapist.
He is qualified to deliver CBT and treat problems such as depression, low self-esteem, OCD, excessive worry (GAD), health anxiety, social phobia and panic.
