About me
Dr Deepan Vyas is a General Paediatrician. He provides expert opinion in treating a wide range of common conditions affecting children. His particular clinical expertise is in the investigation and management of Children's Allergies and includes food allergies, hayfever and allergic rhinitis, asthma and respiratory allergy, gastro-intestinal allergy, eczema and skin conditions.
Dr Vyas read medicine at University of Sheffield Medical School and graduated in 2002. His initial post-graduate training was in the West Midlands and he moved to London to complete Higher Specialist Training in Paediatrics in large specialist Paediatric centres such as Great Ormond Street, Royal Brompton Hospital and the Queen Charlotte Hospital. Following completion of Paediatric Training, Dr Vyas further specialised in Paediatric Allergy at the prestigious Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust before obtaining his substantive NHS Consultant appointment at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
In 2018 he graduated from University College London with a Master of Science degree in Advanced Paediatrics completing his final thesis analysing Anaphylaxis trends in the United Kingdom. His work was presented in at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Conference.
Dr Vyas' passion is providing the best medical care for every patient. By combing the wide breadth of general paediatric and children's allergy experience he is able to provide individualised management plans that improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Dr Vyas has a keen interest in education. He is the Training Programme Director for Foundation Trainees at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He is also a Paediatric Advanced Life Support Course trainer. He provides General Paediatric and Allergy related talks on a regular basis.
Along with the development of local NHS services, Dr Vyas has played a key role in improving the provision of allergy care regionally and nationally. Currently, he is involved in the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Working Group establishing National Service Standards for the delivery of high-quality allergy care. He has also recently been involved with writing guidance for national implementation of peanut immunotherapy on the NHS as well the largest National Survey of Allergy Provisions across the United Kingdom.
