About me
I am a Psychological therapist - offering CBT psychotherapy and integrative counselling. I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a BACP accredited Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I have been a therapist for over 14 years, working for a number of different services as Psychotherapist and Supervisor.
I have worked with adults, teenagers and groups with people with a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties within a variety of NHS and private settings. I have experience working with clients from diverse range of backgrounds and I am sensitive to the context of people's difficulties including gender, sexuality and culture. I also have substantial experience and interest working with clients with neurodiversity.
I am an integrative practitioner- meaning I am able to draw on my knowledge of humanistic approaches (person-centred), cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and psychodynamic approaches to help reduce psychological distress and to enhance psychological well-being. I work collaboratively with the client to determine which way of working best suits their needs. I help to understand how client psychological issues developed, what is maintaining them and how they can overcome them. At the heart of my practice is a commitment to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where clients can feel able to explore their difficulties in depth and where they can begin to increase their self-awareness in order to bring change.
