About me
Matthew is a podiatrist with an interest in musculoskeletal and sports podiatry. He trained at the university of Southampton and completed an internship at the University of Leeds at the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sports Exercise and Osteoarthritis investigating triathlon injury. He is passionate about evidence informed practice and has a master's in clinical and health research awarded as part of a NIHR Clinical Academic Training fellowship at the University of Southampton.
He has been awarded fellowships in podiatric medicine at both the Royal College of Podiatry and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He has practiced in the UK and Canada, and is an Associate Professor at the Michener Institute of Education at UHN in Toronto.
He is passionate about teamwork to provide the best outcomes for patients, and has worked in multidisciplinary teams within a number of London teaching hospitals and in private practice working alongside physicians, surgeons and physiotherapists.
He has experience working in elite sport within premiership football, professional basketball, figure skating, cycling, triathlon, ice hockey, track and distance running. He has volunteered at the London Marathon and Action Challenge ultra-marathon events in the UK and Morocco and has acted as deputy clinical lead for podiatry at the London Marathon since 2016. Matthew is a keen skier and holds ski instructor qualifications, and has completed marathons, ultra-marathons, and an Ironman 70.3 triathlon.
