About me

I am an accredited psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I offer professional, long or short-term, face to face psychotherapy and counselling to adult individuals in Chichester & the West Sussex/Hampshire border area.

At times most of us experience some form of distress or difficulty in our lives. You may be anxious, depressed or feeling confused about your relationships or work. You may not be where you thought or hoped you might be at this point in your life. You may be facing painful experiences through illness, bereavement or family breakdown. Alternatively, you may not know why you are feeling as you do and feel lost and want to understand what is happening to you and why.

Psychotherapy offers a consistent space for you to talk freely and in confidence about your concerns and is an opportunity to begin to understand what underlies your current difficulties. Talking these issues through with a therapist can help to bring some clarification to the feelings you are struggling with. Although this process can be challenging at times, it can also be rewarding and enable you to move forward and make new choices.

If you would like to talk to someone professional and in confidence, contact me now to see how I may be able to help you.

Areas of interest

I work with adult individuals across a broad spectrum of presenting difficulties they may be facing and struggling with and the impact this is having on their lives.
My extensive training as a psychotherapist and counsellor drew on different approaches to therapy, enabling me to work in an integrative way. This allows me to recognise that individuals are all unique in their being and, as such, require different responses to their difficulties. For this reason I utilise the most valuable and relevant aspects of each theory, rather than adopting a ‘one size fits all’ approach. In the main I draw upon Person-Centred, Existential and Psychoanalytic schools of thought, with a particular interest in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic theory and what it has to offer us in terms of insight and understanding into how our past can influence and direct our present.
