About me

Dr David Tucker MBChB (Hons) BSc (Hons), M. Phil., MRCP (London), FRCPath

Dr Tucker is a Consultant Haematologist at the Duchy Hospital and the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro. He trained in Bristol and Sub-specialized in Lymphoma in Plymouth where he obtained a master's in philosophy in Mantle Cell Lymphoma under Professor Simon Rule in the UK's only dedicated MCL clinic.
His areas of special interest are lymphoma, general haematology, anaemia and clinical research. He is Blood Transfusion Lead for the Royal Cornwall Hospital and Director of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly NIHR Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) which is a centre of excellence for clinical research in the UK. He also shares the regional specialty leadership for haematology research for the NIHR research delivery network.
He is an active member of the British Society for Haematology Lymphoma Special Interest Group and the UK Blood Cancer Research Network High Grade Lymphoma Study Group.
He has won several national awards for research from the Royal College of Physicians and the British Society for Haematology. He is an experience investigator in clinical trials and has co-authored publications in The Lancet, Blood Advances and the British Journal of Haematology.
He offers diagnostic and treatment advice for a range of blood conditions.
Dr Tucker also serves on the Duchy Hospital Medical Advisory Committee.
Dr Tucker sees patients at his NHS Clinic in the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske and privately at the Duchy Hospital, Truro. His secretary is Mrs Susan Sprague (cornallhaematology@gmail.com Tel: 07922 623230)
