About me
Dr Raj Shah graduated from Imperial College London with double honours. He is a multi-award winning Consultant Anaesthetist, who completed speciality training in Central London.
Dr Shah became Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2014, and holds a Consultant position at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Dr Shah has a specialist interest in delivering high-quality anaesthesia for major trauma and orthopaedic, urology, ENT and colorectal surgery. He is the department's Anaesthetic Lead for Airway, Emergency Surgery and NELA, and is the hospitals Undergraduate Tutor for UCL, Brunel and St George's Medical School.

Dr Shah has a keen interest in promoting safety and efficiency and patient experience throughout the�operative�period. His work in setting up Quality Improvement and Fast Track Recovery pathways has received over 25 national awards from the Association of Anaesthetists (AAGBI), British Society of Orthopaedic Surgery (BSOA), British Ophthalmic Anaesthetic Society (BOAS),
Royal College of Anaesthetists, Royal Society of Medicine, and Regional Anaesthesia UK.
Dr Shah has over 50 abstracts, case reports, systematic reviews and book chapters published in internationally world-renowned, peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Shah has a great passion for medical education, a strong presence and following on social media, and has previously held a prestigious role as a television doctor for ITV's 'This Morning'.
