About me
I am a qualified, accredited, and experienced psychotherapist. I am aware that seeking help might not be easy. We all experience challenges and difficulties and wish to be able to work through them and move forward. Working together in an empathic, safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment, we can make sense of, and work through, the issues that brought you to therapy. There are many reasons why people make contact with me. It may be depression or anxiety, relationship difficulties or break-up, sexual abuse, emotional distress or bereavement. You may be experiencing work-related stress, panic, low self-esteem, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive thoughts and feelings, difficulties following a trauma, phobias and other feelings that are hard to live with. All those who contact me wish to talk about what concerns them and find a way to manage and overcome thoughts and feelings that are preventing them from leading enjoyable and fulfilling lives.
Areas of interest
I have many years of experience working with adults of all ages in a wide range of short and long-term NHS mental health services and private practice. I have used a range of evidenced-based psychological therapies in my treatment. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to explore and work on unhelpful thoughts and behaviour. I also use Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to work on past difficulties that have been triggered by present circumstances, and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) to specifically work on relationship difficulties. I also have many years of experience in management working in different industries in Canada and the UK. These experiences help me to relate to, and work through, conflict management, performance anxiety, workplace stress, loss of a healthy work-life balance and other work-related concerns, and how these difficulties could interfere with the personal life of an individual.
