About me
Mr Robert Jones is a Consultant Hepatobiliary and General Surgeon and Associate Professor based at Liverpool University Hospitals and Spire Liverpool.
Gallstones & Liver Problems
Mr. Jones specialises in diseases of the gallbladder and liver, and is the Royal College of Surgeons UK Lead for research into bowel cancer that has spread to the liver (colorectal liver metastases). He also holds a prestigious National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR) Fellowship for clinical research and trials in metastatic colorectal cancer and advanced hepatobiliary disease.
As a member of the Liverpool Hepatobiliary Unit, Mr. Jones performs over 80 major open and laparoscopic (keyhole) liver resections a year as well as over 100 laparoscopic gallbladder operations (cholecystectomy). He deals with a wide spectrum of cancer and non-cancer liver and gallbladder conditions.
Hernias
Mr. Jones has extensive experience in the investigation and management of hernias, including groin, incisional and abdominal wall hernias. He performs open and laparoscopic repairs as part of his practice.
Mr. Jones is happy to see direct referrals from GPs and specialist referrals from other surgeons across the region.
