About me

Dr. Zamir is a Consultant Radiologist with dual-accreditation in Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology and the Clinical Lead for Interventional Radiology at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He qualified with a distinction from the Imperial College School of Medicine and completed general & subspecialist radiological training at Imperial College having trained at several centres of international excellence including St. Mary’s Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal Marsden Hospital and Royal Free Hospital.

He has introduced multiple emergency & elective services including embolisation for internal bleeding, endovascular management of post-partum haemorrhage, percutaneous transhepatic biliary decompression, transjugular liver biopsies and uterine fibroid embolisation. He also has an interest in cardiac, gastrointestinal & musculoskeletal imaging and undertakes all manner of image-guided musculoskeletal intervention.

Areas of interest

Interventional Radiology: Vascular (angiography, angioplasty & stent insertions for peripheral vascular disease including complex crural revascularisation; endovascular management of visceral/peripheral aneurysms, embolisation for bleeding control); Hepatobiliary procedures (percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, biliary drainage/stenting, transjugular liver biopsies); Genitourinary (uterine artery embolisation for fibroids/adenomyosis, pelvic congestion syndrome/pelvic varicose vein treatment, varicocele embolisation, renal angiomyolipoma treatment, nephrostomy and ureteric stenting); Oncology (simple and complex vascular access including portacaths, central venous catheters, complex deep biopsies including lung and liver); Musculoskeletal (image-guided joint, bursal, nerve root and facet joint injections). Diagnostic Radiology (cardiac imaging including CT coronary angiograms, vascular, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal imaging)
