About me

I am an Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon; qualified in 1984 and appointed Consultant in 1997.
I am also an examiner for the Royal college of Surgeons (Edinburgh and Intercollegiate Board) for the FRCS inTrauma and Orthopaedics in the UK and internationally. I am involved in quality-assurance for this exam and for the British and European Diploma in Hand Surgery on behalf of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
I have published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed Orthopaedic and Hand Surgery surgery journals and have reviewed papers for a number of these for the last 20 years.
I have been actively involved in training Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeons for over 20 years.

Areas of interest

Hand surgery; wrist surgery; Dupuytren's disease; surgery for arthritis of the hand and wrist; joint replacement in the hand and wrist; nerve entrapment (e.g.carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuritis); tendon problems; wrist arthroscopy; wrist instability.
