About me
Mr Shahme Farook completed his Medical Degree at the University of Aberdeen in 2001 and his Dental Degree at King's College London in 2010. He subsequently undertook higher specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across several leading centres, including University College London Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, and the Royal London Hospital.
He was awarded Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2018, following which he completed advanced sub-specialty training in Head & Neck Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery. In 2019, he was appointed as a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Head & Neck Reconstruction at Northwick Park Hospital, London.
Mr Farook's clinical interests include the management of head and neck tumours, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology, maxillofacial trauma, and salivary gland pathology. He has a strong academic interest in research and medical education, having presented at both national and international conferences. His work has been published in peer-reviewed surgical journals, and he has contributed book chapters within the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has also served as international faculty on courses focused on facial trauma management and head and neck free flap reconstruction.
Outside of clinical practice, Mr Farook is a keen cricketer. He represented his school and university in national competitions and currently plays in the Hertfordshire Cricket League.
