About me

Mr. Turab Syed is a Fellowship trained Hip & knee joint replacement and Foot & Ankle surgery expert. His passion includes hip & knee joint replacement and foot & ankle surgery including sports surgery, management of Achilles tendon & MIS (Minimally Invasive Surgery).
He completed his training in Foot & Ankle Surgery and Lower Limb Arthroplasty (joint replacements i.e Total Hip Replacements and Total Knee replacements) through prestigious fellowships from Cardiff University Hospitals.
Mr Turab Syed also completed a German Hip Replacement fellowship at Klinikum Frankfurt, Höchst, Frankfurt, Germany with Prof. D Mouret.
He received his Foot and Ankle Surgery advanced training through BOFAS (British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery Society) accredited/recognised fellowship.
Mr. Turab Syed enhanced his surgical expertise by attending advanced training in France (University of Strasbourg), Germany (Munich and Frankfurt) and Holland (Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam) by attending super-specialist orthopaedic cadaveric courses.
Mr Turab Syed’s passion for management and sub-specialist interest in treatment of lower limb conditions, took him on the path of serving as one of the official team Doc for England Football Team C and England Football XI (Guernsey, Jersey and IOM (Isle of Man) National Football Teams - the England National Football Teams for UEFA Regions Cups) from 2008 till 2016. Mr Turab Syed travelled with these teams on international tours of duty to Ireland, Malta, Poland, Albania, Croatia, San-Marino, Slovakia & Romania. Also worked as the academy Doctor for MKDONS; the Jersey Derby Doctor, the official Doctor twice for the ECCA (English Cross-Country Athletics) and official MSA (Motor Sports Association) Doctor; attended Silverstone racing track race for Pomphrey Trophy as a co-doctor.

Mr Turab Syed completed his MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine from The University of Bath by defending his research thesis.He was the local Principal Investigator at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust, Hampstead, London for two multi-site RCTs (Randomised Controlled Trials) funded by NIHR. He is currently associate PI for FAME trial (Ankle Fracture Management).
Mr.Turab Syed has published extensively; 30 publications of full articles/abstracts (90 posters and podium presentations) at nationally/internationally.
He is an Academic tutor for the MCh (Masters) Orthopaedics and Trauma for the University of Edinburgh and has been an Honorary Lecturer for UCL (University College London).
Mr Turab Syed has conducted webinars for international surgeons across developing countries like Morton’s Neuroma Webinar for Principles of Orthopaedics to F&A trainees in India, in Oct 2021, King Edward Medical College Alumni on Surgical management of Diabetic Feet for Pakistani Surgeons in Dec 2021and COVID precautions for Surgeons at the start of COVID-19 Pandemic.
He is Faculty for the Diabetic Foot Surgical Reconstruction Cadaveric Workshop, Anglia Ruskin Medical School, Chelmsford, United Kingdom (2021 & 2022).
Mr Turab Syed instructed for the Arthroscopy Skills course and as a moderator for the Scientific Sessions at the 40th SICOT World Congress in Muscat, Oman 2019. He served as faculty on Charring Cross (London) Ex-Fix course and Femoral Nailing / DHS Course.
Mr Turab Syed lectured at Royal Society of Medicine, London.
He has taught medical students and an examiner for MBBS for UCL & Glasgow Medical School. He sat on interview panels for medical School admissions of UCL & Glasgow Medical School.
He has served as faculty member for the MRCS (Membership Royal College of Surgeons), FRCS (Fellowship Royal College of Surgeons) mock exams FRCS Preparatory Course and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Surgical Skills heats on their Quincentenary (500 years) Celebrations.
He received 10 awards during his medical career including: “The Best Young Researcher Award” by UKSEM (UK Sports & Exercise Medicine) in 2011.
