About me

I am a Consultant Hand, Wrist and Upper Limb Surgeon specialising in nerve, sports disorders and arthritis of the arm. As a dedicated specialist only of the upper limb, I am able to offer a complete and individualised service utilising the latest techniques including keyhole nerve release and total joint replacement for hand arthritis.

I graduated in medicine from Cambridge University and have pursued my orthopaedic and specialist training in multiple distinguished specialist centres in the West Midlands and the UK. In 2018, I was awarded the prestigious British Orthopaedic Association overseas fellowship to attain further specialist skills in wrist arthroscopy and hand injury surgery in centres of excellence in Asia.

I offer a number of specialist treatments, including endoscopic carpal tunnel release, wrist arthroscopy for ligament injuries of the wrist, ganglion cyst excision, severe Dupuytren's correction, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, and management of tennis and golfer's elbow. I perform the most keyhole carpal tunnel decompressions in the UK, offering quicker return to work and less scar pain compared to the traditional open approach. I am a high volume total joint replacement surgeon for thumb arthritis. This new technique can ensure strength, mobility and function is returned to normal in this painful and often debilitating condition. I am also a leader in forearm deformity correction, employing the latest 3D printing methods to design and utilise custom-made patient-specific implants.

I was appointed as a consultant in Orthopaedics and Trauma at University Hospitals Birmingham in 2019, and treat patients with both elective and traumatic orthopaedic conditions.

I am actively involved in clinical research and am the chief investigator of a Ministry of Defence funded multi-centre study. I am regularly invited to present at international conferences and have published over 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters.
