About me
Dr Holdright graduated from UCL and UCH, London in 1984. She completed her specialist postgraduate training in cardiology at The National Heart Hospital, The London Chest Hospital, The Royal Brompton Hospital and UCL Hospitals, London.
As part of her training, Dr Holdright undertook a period of research at The National Heart & Lung Institute, London. Since 1997, she has had her own private practice and has over 15 years’ worth of experience as a consultant.
Dr Holdright's practice spans the wide spectrum of cardiological conditions and concerns, from cardiovascular risk screening through to recommendations on the best method of intervention for symptomatic coronary artery disease (coronary angioplasty versus bypass surgery). Her practice also encompasses the investigation of palpitations, dizzy spells, blackouts, chest pain and breathlessness, the management of valvular heart disease, and the treatment of heart failure.
Dr Holdright takes a personal approach to cardiovascular risk and screening. She is a strong advocate of CT coronary angiography to refine cardiac risk, placing a high importance on providing the appropriate treatment for high cholesterol and high blood pressure, as well as screening for diabetes and metabolic syndromes, all of which are significant risk factors for the development of coronary artery disease.
Areas of interest
Prevention and treatment of heart attack, the heart:brain interface, cardiac risk assessment and screening, investigation and treatment of cardiac conditions.
