About me
Capasso Maria Teresa has worked in public and privately since 2006. She splits her time between private practice and working for the health service with people who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, including people who have been admitted to hospital due to their mental health. She is experienced in working with a range of mental health difficulties including:
* Depression
* Psychosis (schizophrenia)
* Bipolar disorder
* Borderline disorder
* Anxiety, including social anxiety, phobias, and obsessional-compulsive disorder.
* Depression
* Eating disorder
* Relationship Difficulties
Her clinical practice draws from a range of integrated theoretical models but is heavily influenced by cognitive phenomenologist approaches. Cognitive psychotherapy has been shown to be effective for people experiencing family and relationship difficulties, mental health difficulties, separation, and divorce, eating disorders, violence, self-harm, drug and alcohol misuse, and the effects of trauma.
There are challenging moments in our lives when we need guidance to make sense of what is happening to us. Therapy can help to promote self-awareness, which leads to the capacity for better relationships, both personally and professionally. You'll find alternative perspectives, new possibilities, and an enhanced sense of strength and well-being.
Maria is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) as a Chartered Psychologist, Supervisor, and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Licensed Psychotherapist, and Yoga Teacher.
