About me

Experience
Dr Megan Underhill is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and has worked within the NHS as a clinician since 2007. She has experience of working clinically using a range of therapeutic modalities, most recently using primarily cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and compatible approaches such as compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Dr Underhill has experience of working individually with adults including people experiencing difficulties with drug and alcohol use, older adults, adolescents and children, including those in care and adolescents with forensic histories. She has also worked with families, and has facilitated groupwork.

She is committed to understanding people’s difficulties in context, and supporting people to move forward in a way that feels right for them.

Alongside her work with Mollart CBT Ltd., Dr Underhill works in an NHS community mental health team.

Dr Underhill wrote her doctoral thesis on experiences of threatening thoughts in first episode psychosis, exploring content, distress, change over time and context.

Qualifications
Dr Underhill holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Salomons, Canterbury Christ Church University. She also holds a MSc in Mental Health Studies from Kings College London.

Dr Underhill is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with The Health Care Professional Council (HCPC), which monitors and regulates the practice of Clinical Psychologists.

Professional Development
Dr Underhill receives regular supervision and she also attends conferences and skills based workshops to maintain and develop her knowledge and skill set.
