About me

I am a UK-registered independent therapist with qualifications and experience in counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). Alongside my private practice, I have worked in the voluntary sector and within GP-referred primary healthcare therapy.
As a qualified counsellor specialising in CBT, I support both adults and teenagers. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and warmth, ensuring a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment for my clients. Whether addressing loss, grief (including anticipated grief), anxiety, depression, or trauma, I treat every individual with respect and compassion. Together, we explore life's challenges, both the events and patterns that shape our experiences, helping to foster understanding and empower personal growth.
With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, I am a fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and EMDR UK. I adhere to their ethical guidelines for good practice.
My qualifications include a Diploma in Counselling and a BA (Hons) degree in Psychological Therapy (CBT). Additionally, as a qualified supervisor, I provide supervision for fellow therapists and students. Holding a Certificate in Post-Compulsory Education also allows me to train therapists in further and higher education settings.
