About me

I AM A CONSULTANT ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON WITH SPECIAL INTERESTS IN HAND, WRIST AND KNEE SURGERY. I SEE, ASSESS AND TREAT PATIENTS WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF CONDITIONS IN MY SPECIALISMS, WITH OR WITHOUT SURGERY AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE
I HAVE BEEN A CONSULTANT FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS AND HAVE HAD A WIDE AND EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN ALMOST ALL ASPECTS OF ORTHOPAEDICS, IN THE LAST NEARLY FIFTEEN YEARS, I HAVE PRACTISED MAINLY IN THE FIELDS OF HAND AND KNEE SURGERY, I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY DEALT WITH WIDE RANGE OF PROBLEMS WITHIN MY FIELDS OF SPECIALISM.

I AM INVOLVED IN TEACHING, TRAINING AND I HAVE BEEN AN EXAMINER FOR MBBS, MRCS AND FRCS ORTH EXAMS. I AM ALSO AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE ROYAL COLLEGE IN GLASGOW AND SIT ON VARIOUS COMMITTEES.

KNEE

Meniscal (Cartilage) tears with Key Hole surgery (Arthroscopy); Ligament tears including Cruciate (ACL) tears with Reconstruction; Arthritis with Injections; Patellar
(Knee cap) problems with Key hole surgery, Lateral Release and Realignment procedures; Articular Cartilage damage needing operations including Chondroplasty, Micro fracture, and Mosaicplasty, Amic and cartilage transplantation.

HAND

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; Trigger Fingers: Dupuytren's disease both primary and for Recurrence, Ganglion; Arthritis of Hand joints and Joint Replacements, Trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction; Tendon surgery include release, repair and Reconstructions; Arthroscopy of wrists and treatment of torn wrist cartilage and arthritis;; Nerve Repairs and releases; Ulnar nerve release and transposition, Fusion of finger and wrist joints, Fractures of Scaphoid &internal fixation; secondary corrections of deformities.
