About me
My name is Dr Keri Nixon and I am a Consultant Forensic Psychologist. I now run my private practice on the Wirral, where I treat a variety of mental health problems, including complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety and many more. I use a variety of treatments including EMDR.
My previous role was Clinical Lead in a secure psychiatric hospital, where I treated and assessed patients detained under the Mental Health Act.
A particular area of passion and expertise of mine is abuse and trauma. My PhD was in domestic abuse risk assessment and my ongoing work in this area focuses on trauma related to abuse and also trauma symptoms in children who have experienced abuse and neglect. For this reason, I am often called upon to work as an expert on care proceedings cases and family hearings. I am passionate about providing specialist trauma treatment to individuals who have suffered trauma and believe that early intervention in trauma is crucial.
I am known for my personable approach; I ensure everyone attending my clinic feels at ease immediately.
