About me
Mr Neil Tan is a dual fellowship trained Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon. He manages all aspects of general ENT problems and has a sub-specialist interest in rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery. This includes all conditions of the nose including inflammatory problems (eg sinusitis or nasal allergy) and structural problems (eg deviated nasal septum and deformity causing nasal obstruction). He has an interest in endoscopic lacrimal surgery for the treatment of watery eyes.
Mr Tan undertook his basic medical training at Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ School of Medicine, London, which included an honours degree in Radiological Sciences. He completed his higher specialist ENT Training in the East of England region and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2016. He undertook two years of sub-speciality fellowships in Anterior and Lateral Skull Base Surgery in Addenbrookes, Cambridge, and Advanced Rhinology, Endoscopic Skull Base and Lacrimal Surgery in Adelaide, Australia working with world leaders in rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery.
He has an extensive background in academic rhinology research, having been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy with Distinction from the University of Adelaide in 2013. He has published extensively in basic sciences and clinical rhinology research, and has given numerous international presentations in the USA, Australia, Europe and UK. He has won a number of awards including the Royal Society of Medicine Research Prize, Essay Prize and Sinus Dissection Prizes.
Mr Tan has a keen interest in education and training. He was awarded a Master of Education with Distinction from the University of Cambridge and has been invited to teach on internationally recognised sinus surgery courses in Australia, Canada and the UK.
