Dr Zumla is a registered Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and has been working at the Leicester Spire Hospital for over 6 years. Prior to this she spent over 20 years working in the NHS, at the Birmingham Children's Hospital and at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. She completed her Masters in Health Psychology at the University of Nottingham, and Doctoral training at the University of Manchester in 2008.
Dr Zumla is trained in and draws upon a range of evidence based psychological models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT, family therapy Systemic approaches, Health psychology, Mindfulness, Triple P and Early Bird NAS.
She provides specialist psychological assessments consultation and interventions for children, adolescents and adults for a range of psychological difficulties including-

Dr Zumla provide regular teaching and consultation to Medical consultants, GP's, and teach at the University of Leicester Clinical Psychology Doctoral programme. She has a specialist interest in understanding and working with diverse populations, and was the lead for diversity in her team when she worked in the NHS. She also supports the diversity strategy panel at the University.
She has expert experience and knowledge in Health and Medical Psychology, and as such work closely with the specialist medical consultants accordingly.
