About me
Amy Davidow is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the BPS. She obtained her Clinical Psychology training with distinction from Rhodes University, South Africa in 2006. Since then, she has worked both in South Africa and in the UK with children, adolescents and adults – across a range of sectors including private, voluntary and statutory (NHS). Using primarily a Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) approach, she draws from a variety of modalities including Systemic Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Amy has worked for many years in Tier IV adolescent inpatient units and enjoys working with young people individually and in groups. Most recently, Amy was Clinical Lead for a post adoption therapy service offering assessments and therapeutic intervention to adopted children and their families. Amy strongly believes in supporting and working with all parts of a system in order to initiate and sustain change.
She is an experienced supervisor having supervised trainees as well as qualified clinicians from a range of therapeutic modalities. One of Amy’s clinical interests is in the realm of trauma and how it affects growth, development and connection across the lifespan.
Amy opened her private practice in October 2018 and is currently working with a range of different systems and clients.
